L’Océane, from the Beauce to the Atlantic

We leave Paris on the A10, then the A11, nicknamed L’Océane, heads west. The spires of Chartres cathedral rise in the distance above the fields of the Beauce, then the motorway runs on towards Le Mans and Angers.

After Angers, the motorway meets the Loire and follows it to Nantes. On arrival, the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and the Île de Nantes with its Machines, including the Great Elephant, set the tone for a city that loves to surprise.

Nantes is a destination, but also a starting point: La Baule and Pornic are under an hour away, Noirmoutier barely more, and the Puy du Fou about an hour to the south. This is often where the TGV reaches its limits.

Our clients on this route are families heading off on holiday to the coast, groups going to the Puy du Fou, and professionals with meetings in the Euronantes district or at the Cité des Congrès.

Our straight-talking verdict

The TGV links Paris-Montparnasse and Nantes in just over two hours: on your own, heading for the centre, it is faster. A car with driver takes the lead for the coast (La Baule, Pornic, Noirmoutier), for the Puy du Fou, for a family with luggage or a group, and when your address is far from the station.
