The Christmas market
From late November to late December, one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe. Trains are packed and access to the centre restricted: the car drops you as close as possible.
Paris → Alsace on the eastern motorway
European Parliament session week, fully booked trains, the Christmas market with the family or carrying on to the Black Forest: a car with driver takes you from your door to Alsace, and beyond.
Strasbourg
about €245 per person with 4 passengers
The route follows the A4 from start to finish. It crosses the Brie, Reims and Champagne, the Meuse near Verdun, then Lorraine near Metz. After Sarrebourg, the motorway crosses the Vosges via the Col de Saverne pass and drops down into the Alsace plain.
It is a very steady drive, with no major city to cross apart from the Reims bypass, and the breaks fall naturally in Champagne and then in Lorraine.
Strasbourg moves to the rhythm of the European institutions. One week a month, Parliament sits in plenary session: trains and hotels are booked solid, and a car with driver becomes a real solution for MEPs, assistants and delegations.
Strasbourg is also a gateway to Germany: Kehl is just across the Rhine, Baden-Baden is 45 minutes away and Europa-Park less than an hour. Extending the trip takes just one line in your request.

Unique to this route
Strasbourg is often just one stop along the way. Here are the nearby destinations our clients most often add to their trip, on both the Alsatian and the German side.
Just across the Rhine, in Germany.
To the north, gateway to northern Alsace and the Northern Vosges.
A village on the Alsace Wine Route, at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile.
German spa town on the edge of the Black Forest.
Germany’s big theme park in Rust, a firm favourite with families.
Little Venice, half-timbered houses and vineyards.
An honest comparison
From your front door to your destination address, with no changes and no luggage to carry.
1h 46min on the train, plus around 1h 30min to get to the station, wait for departure and complete the journey at the other end.
The TGV takes under two hours from Paris-Est to Strasbourg: for a one-way trip on your own, it wins. A car with driver makes sense for a group or a family, during session weeks when trains are full, with lots of luggage or equipment, and if you are carrying on to Germany or the Vosges.
