Paris → Champagne via the A4
A day in Champagne without driving: that is the whole point. Your chauffeur takes you from one house to the next, from Reims to Épernay, and brings you back to Paris in the evening, with no need to worry about the wheel after the tastings.
about €73 per person with 4 passengers
Unique to this route
Our clients’ favourite plan: Reims in the morning, Épernay in the afternoon and a wine village to finish. A sample day, to adapt to your bookings.
Pickup at your door. The A4 flows freely once you are out of Paris.
A tour of the crayères and your first tasting. Your chauffeur stays nearby.
Near the cathedral or at a restaurant among the vines, a few minutes away.
The Avenue de Champagne and its houses, half an hour from Reims.
The village of the abbey linked to Dom Pérignon, with a superb view over the Marne valley.
Drop-off at your door, after a day with no car to park and no wheel to hold.
We leave Paris on the A4, across the Brie. After Château-Thierry, the motorway runs along the Marne valley and the first vine-covered slopes appear: you are already in Champagne, barely an hour after setting off.
Reims is the cathedral where the kings of France were crowned, but also the great champagne houses and their crayères, cellars carved into the chalk. The Champagne hillsides, houses and cellars are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The real point of this trip is what happens once you are there. A cellar tour followed by a tasting, then a second, then Épernay and its Avenue de Champagne: nobody should be driving. Your chauffeur waits for you between each stop.
This route is very popular for birthdays, hen and stag parties, company away days and overseas visitors. For a group of six or seven, the van makes the day easy and sociable.
An honest comparison
From your front door to your destination address, with no changes and no luggage to carry.
0h 46min on the train, plus around 1h 30min to get to the station, wait for departure and complete the journey at the other end.
The TGV links Paris-Est and Reims in 46 minutes: for a one-way trip to the centre, it is unbeatable. But a day in Champagne is not just central Reims: the houses are spread out, Épernay is half an hour away, the wine villages are poorly served, and nobody should drive after a tasting. Here, a car with driver is the only option that really works.
